アメリカンカジュアルの伝統的な文脈とヒストリーを源流としながら、綿や糸など素材からこだわるメランジドクター・薄　新大（うすきしんだい）が目指すものは、後世に残るようなの定番商品のものづくり。未来のヴィンテージです。

Founded in 1999 in Nakameguro, Tokyo, "RIDING HIGH" has spent the past 26 years refining its craft. Through experience and knowledge gained from the manufacturing process, encounters with better materials, and connections with many people, the brand continues to evolve its approach to creating quality Japanese-made products — always with a foundation rooted in the excellence of materials.

While rooted in the traditional context and history of American casual wear, Melange Doctor Shindai Usuki — who is particular about materials starting from the cotton and yarn — aims to create products that will stand the test of time. His goal is to craft the vintage pieces of the future.

RIDING HIGHの出発点には、シンプルながらも奥行きのある言葉があります。
"ひとつひとつの商品が表情を持つようなものづくり”。
単なる衣服としての機能を超えて、糸一本、編み機一台、さらには生地の杢の色合いにまで宿る「表情」を掬い上げること。それがブランドの根幹に据えられています。

Riding High — The Philosophy of

At the starting point of Riding High lies a phrase that is simple, yet deeply layered:
“Creating products in which each piece holds its own expression.”
Beyond the mere functionality of clothing, the brand seeks to capture the “expression” found in a single thread, a specific knitting machine, and even in the subtle tones of a heathered fabric. This philosophy forms the very foundation of Riding High.

アメリカンスタンダードを再解釈する

展開の中心にあるのは、アメリカンスタンダードをベースとしたカットソー。
1950年代のTシャツやスウェットに見られるシルエット、縫製、そして当時特有の素材感を参照しながらも、単なる復刻ではなく「今」の解釈を重ねている点にRIDING HIGHの特徴があります。古着好きが思わず手を止めるような懐かしさと、現代の生活に馴染む快適さ。その両立を目指しています。

Reinterpreting
the American Standard

At the heart of the brand’s lineup are cut-and-sewn garments based on the American Standard.
Referencing the silhouettes, stitching, and fabric textures of 1950s T-shirts and sweatshirts, Riding High is not interested in mere reproduction. Instead, it layers contemporary interpretation upon vintage inspiration. The result is clothing that evokes a sense of nostalgia—enough to stop any vintage enthusiast in their tracks—while also providing the comfort that fits seamlessly into modern life.

糸へのこだわりと編み機の存在感

服作りの出発点は「糸」にあります。RIDING HIGHはオリジナルの糸作りから始める稀有なブランドであり、その選び方や撚り方が生地全体の表情を決定づけます。
さらに特筆すべきは「編み機」。吊り編み機やヴィンテージ機といった、現在では希少となった機械を用いることで、時間をかけてゆっくりと編み立て、空気を含んだような柔らかい生地を実現しています。大量生産の現代に逆行するその工程は、まさにクラフトへの執念とも言えるでしょう。
